Cody Borden

Product designer · Founder of MoodyBoards

I've spent twenty years in design — brand and product work, the kind where you learn quickly what holds together and what quietly falls apart three months after launch.

MoodyBoards came out of that. When generative AI arrived, making an image got easy almost overnight, but making a set of images that look like they belong to the same company did not. That still takes judgment: which model to use for what, which references to feed it, how hard to weight them, how to phrase the thing you actually want. It's learnable, and most of it changes again by the next model release.

So MoodyBoards handles that part. You settle the direction once — your look, your feel — and everything you generate after inherits it. I use it on my own projects, which is the main reason it keeps getting better in the places that actually matter.

I write here about mood boards, visual direction, and getting output from AI tools that you can put in front of a client without apologizing for it.

The product

MoodyBoards turns a plain description into a moodboard, then generates on-brand images that inherit its direction. Your first moodboard and first image are free.
